Welcome to the Appetite for Change Project — where eating, feeding, and body meet neurodivergence, queerness, transness, chronic illness, and disability.
Grounded in lived, living, and professional experience, this project exists because the so-called “gold standards” are nowhere near enough. We centre the realities, voices, and needs of those so often overlooked, dismissed, or harmed by the mainstream. Through resources, trainings, advocacy, and conferences, we’re working to create care that is truly inclusive, affirming, intersectional, accessible, and just.
No one is “too complex” or “too much”, and there’s room for everyone at the (proverbial) table — especially those who were never offered a seat. We’d love for you to join us.
What We Offer
2026 Appetite for Change Conference
Held online in March 2026, this conference is the first of its kind. It will focus on the intersections of eating, feeding, and body, among neurodivergent, queer, trans, gender diverse, chronically ill, disabled, and otherwise marginalised people — whose voices, needs, and experiences have pathologised and dismissed for far too long — and explore vital considerations for truly affirming care.
Training & Professional Development
We provide individual and group supervision, as well as consultation for teams, services, projects, particularly on neurodivergence, gender, queerness, chronic illness, disability, eating and feeding, and/or their intersections. Our approach is reflective and collaborative, focussed on creating safer, more accessible, inclusive, and affirming understandings, approaches, services, options, and spaces.
Professional Consultation & Supervision
We offer webinars, workshops, and tailored trainings — on a wide range of topics — for practitioners, peer workers, services, and organisations wanting to deepen their understanding and shift their practice. These are grounded in research, lived evidence, and evidence-based practice, embedded in affirming, inclusive, anti-ableist, trauma-informed, intersectional, HAES frameworks.
Publications & Podcasts Eps
We discuss eating, body, neurodivergence, chronic illness, disability, gender, queerness, advocacy, and care, in blogs, articles, research papers, podcast eps, and other publications. Combining lived experience, community wisdom, and affirming research, our works challenge dominant narratives, unpack systemic harm, and invite more inclusive, affirming ways of thinking and practicing.
Resources &
Info Library
We maintain a library of free resources. It contains practical tools, guides, downloads, listings, and other information, to support accessibility, advocacy, knowledge, and care. Topics include neurodivergence, chronic illness, queerness, gender, disability, eating and feeding, systemic harm, and various supports / services. We aim to build this resource library in an ongoing way.
Collaborations &
Presentations
We participate in / collaborate on panels, podcasts, conferences, community events, publications, and talks that align with our values and work focus. We bring lived, living, and professional experience (while also recognising that no one speaks for all), and we’re always open to explore working with other individuals, groups, organisations, collectives, and / or events.
